Poster Competition

Schools are invited to submit students’ poster designs to the CSMFA competition, to advertise the 2025 festival season.

$200 to be won !

Here is an opportunity to put your artistic and design skills to work and win not only the chance to have your artwork seen and handled by thousands of Cantabrians, but also to win $100 for you and another $100 for your school!

Children participating in the Festival are Primary and Intermediate School pupils and each year the Music Festival runs their music programme based on a theme: 2025’s theme is about Friends and Family, so the concerts will be called:

Whānau – Friends and Family

Songs will include messages about being a good friend and supporting your family and loved ones, so we would love the poster that will be used to advertise our concerts to be a work of art that reflects our theme. The theme can also include a link to music in some way but it does not have to.

Posters chosen in the past have often been quite simple but effective and not too busy. We love bright colours done in coloured pencil or paint and the poster can also be digitally created if you wish.

On the right you can scroll through some of the winning images from previous years!

The prize offered is:

$100.00 to the winning artist

and

$100.00 to his/her school

Digital image designs!
