Junior Representative Choir
Calendar of Rehearsals & Performances
ALL rehearsals & performances are compulsory. In order to accept a place in the Junior Choir you must be able to attend ALL of these rehearsals & performances.

Saturday Rehearsals
Attendance is compulsory
Date: Saturday 29 August, 5, 12, 19 September, 17, 31 October
Start: 1pm Avonhead Baptist Church, 102 Avonhead Rd
Finish: 3.30pm at Avonhead School, 55 Avonhead Rd
Please note different start and finish locations for rehearsals. However, there is one exception to this: Saturday 17 October, where the whole rehearsal will be at Avonhead School.
All rehearsals start and finish at the stated time – please arrange your transport around this so that you are not late arriving OR being collected!
Holiday Course
Attendance is compulsory
Dates: Monday – Wednesday 28 – 30 September
Time: 9am – 2.30pm each day (report at 8.45am)
Venue: Avonhead School
Please note: We require the assistance of teachers or of parents of children attending the Holiday Course to help supervise the children during their two 30-minute breaks on each day of the course. Click here for more details
Dress Rehearsals
Attendance is compulsory for both rehearsals
Date: Monday 2 November
Time: 9.30am – 2.30pm (bring lunch and snacks)
Venue: Christchurch Town Hall
and
Date: Tuesday 3 November
Time: 9.30am – 12pm
Performance Evenings
Attendance is compulsory for all four evenings
Dates: Tuesday – Friday, 3 – 6 November
Reporting Time: by 6pm
Collection Time: 9.20pm
Conductor
The conductor of the Junior Choir is Charlotte Davie.
Charlotte has been involved in choirs from a young age. Through her schooling, she was a member of Bel Canto at Burnside, and beyond that she was a member of Christchurch Youth Choir. Charlotte has established several choirs both within the Christchurch community and in schools. She is also a Massed Choir Conductor for the Festival and the Massed Choir Conductor for the North West Music Festival. Outside of Charlotte’s musical life, she is a teacher at Elmwood Normal School and a mum to three children.
Charlotte is assisted by accompanist Hsing-Yin Lin.
