Teacher Nominations for Representative Groups

Only teachers – principals, class, music or itinerant specialists – may nominate pupils for an audition for a Representative Group.

If you are a teacher or itinerant music teacher, on the form below, you are able to nominate a pupil whom you believe is suitably talented to be considered for a place in one of the Representative Groups of the Music Festival…

  • Junior Representative Choir (Year 5 & 6)
  • Senior Representative Choir (Year 7 & 8)
  • Concert Band
  • Orchestra

For a Representative Choir place, children should be able to sing in tune without assistance, and appropriately for their age, be able to hold a vocal part.

For an instrumentalist, a pupil should be able to read music and to play their chosen instrument at a level of Grade 3 or above: note however, that passes in formal grades are not required.  Current participation in a school group is a particularly useful indicator.

When you nominate of a pupil for a Representative Group, we will send an email to them/their parent/guardian inviting them to apply for an audition for a place.  All members of a Representative Group must complete an audition.

NOTE: this nomination is NOT an application for audition. Only the pupil (or their family) can actually apply for an audition here.

All the information that parents and pupils need to know about the Music Festival, the Representative Groups and the audition process is available on the Music Festival website and will be linked in the email that we send a nominated pupil.

Note: If you wish to nominate a number of pupils, you may find it quicker and easier to complete this Excel sheet and email it to the Website Manager.
