Introducing Our New Logo

We are honoured to announce that our Festival has been gifted a new Te Reo Māori name by Whitiora Centre, Ngāi Tuāhuriri Runanga, Tuahiwi Marae of Ngāi Tahu.

The gifting of a Māori name provides a poetic perspective on what is being translated.

As Whitiora explained, Hā talks about breath, essence, and sound. Hā Puoro talks about that breath of sound, that harmonious sound.

This significant and powerful moment of renaming has also given us the opportunity to revisit the Festival’s visual identity. As part of this journey, we engaged a branding company to create a story and a logo that honours both the history and the future of the Music Festival.

Our new logo portrays all of the elements coming together to create Te Hā Puoro, reflecting the spirit, connection, and musical excellence that have always been at the heart of our Festival.

Look out for it, as we will gradually be using the logo on printed material and our website in the coming months and formally adopt it from 2027.
