Kate wrote the following about her poster:

“For my composition, I went from the brief of ‘Whatever the weather’ to the songs ‘Singing in the rain’ and ‘You are my sunshine’, adding in musical notes in along the way. This led me to create a choir of people singing under umbrellas, with the maracas as the rain and the sun bringing in a Hawaiian feel on the ukele. My drummer sounds thunder and lightening booming across the blue sky, while the wind flying out plays the flute’s magical sound. From behind the sun and above the clouds comes the rainbow after every storm: all the elements working together bringing music to the world.”

Kate wins $100 for herself and her school wins a further $100. Her drawing will be used on the poster advertising the Music Festival and in the Festival programme cover.

Congratulations to Kate.

Thank you to all pupils who entered the Poster Competition this year. There were a significant number of entries to choose from and, as usual, the decision was not an easy one.
